Custom ERP System

Project Description:

A mid-sized company in the oil and gas industry asked Avity to design and build a custom ERP system for them on Ruby on Rails.  As the leading player in their niche, they were experiencing rapid growth beyond the abilities of their existing system to handle.  Avity worked with them for six months on business requirements analysis to document and restructure their internal processes and incorporate that into a software application. This is the main system that the company uses for all of their day-to-day operations.

Size and Duration: Multi-year project with 4-6 person development team

Application Features: Full ERP system to track entire manufacturing operations. Multi-user web application, order tracking, materials usage estimation tools, automatic scheduling of production, contract management system

Technologies: Ruby on Rails (RoR), RJS (Ruby AJAX/DHTML/Javascript), SVN

Hosting Infrastructure: Deployed on Linux platform, servers located on client’s premises. Rails based hosting infrastructure leveraging Mongrel servers
