01/11/10 Avity begins work on Facebook Application for Yale Office of Sustainability

As part of our work on their new website, Avity is working with the Yale Office of Sustainability (YOS) to develop a Facebook application that will use the social media platform to help solve real-life sustainability issues.

The Yale Office of Sustainability is a worldwide leader in solving institutional sustainability issues.  They wanted a web presence that would not only reflect their brand, but help them capitalize on their unique access to the student and alumni of Yale University.

Avity worked with YOS to plan a unique application that will allow users to generate discussion and weigh in on complicated sustainability issues facing Yale and other institutions.  The application utilizes self-reporting and an online database to help YOS gather a truly unique pool of data.

11/15/09 Avity announces launch of Shopafrolic.com
Avity is pleased to announce the launch of the Shopafrolic.com website.  Founded by sisters Jane Wagman and Liz Lange (herself a famous fashion designer), this lively and unique website features daily product recommendations for the savvy shopper.

Avity provided consultation for the site's layout and information architecture and did all the programming.  Built on a customized installation of WordPress, Shopafrolic allows Liz and Jane to easily post new products and interact with their fans via integrated social media links, a "Buy/Don't Buy" section that allows users to get feedback on their own fashion suggestions, and via their daily email newsletter.

10/20/09 Avity launches new website for Yale Institution for Social and Policy Studies
Avity is excited to announce the launch of the new website for the Yale Institution for Social and Policy Studies (ISPS).  The site includes a customized installation of the WordPress CMS and two custom-built databases for ISPS Publications and Projects.  The frontend of the database allows researchers and students to quickly search for specific studies via a number of filter fields and each record highlights Publications or Projects related to that record.

Other features include a Calendar filterable by category and a news feature, which both feed highlights to the Home page.  The backend of the site also allows the site admin to create user accounts and grant varied levels of access to different types of user.

Congratulations to the ISPS team on a successful launch!
